Serve Legal ranked #11 SME in the UK at the Elite Business Awards

We’re incredibly proud to share that Serve Legal has been ranked #11 SME in the UK in the Elite Business Awards (EB100).

Being recognised at a national level, alongside so many ambitious and well-run organisations, is a milestone moment for us. The EB100 celebrates more than commercial success. It recognises how businesses operate day to day: their leadership, integrity, sustainability and long-term impact. To place 11th in the UK is something we’re extremely proud of.

Our EB100 application told our story of growth. Serve Legal was founded in 2006 because the right solution didn’t exist. Our founders were retailers who had experienced first-hand how damaging a single compliance failure can be, and how difficult it was to consistently evidence good practice.

Nearly two decades on, our purpose remains the same, but our impact has grown. While we are proud of our commercial progress, what matters most is the wider outcome of the work we do. We help create safer communities, support better-run businesses, and strengthen protection for customers and staff. Compliance only has value if it reflects reality at the point of service. That is why our audits are designed to identify risk early, highlight where policies break down in practice, and help organisations improve in a meaningful and measurable way.

Today we deliver more than 250,000 audits every year across retail, hospitality, education, housing, finance and other regulated sectors. In 2025 we expanded internationally and now operate across six continents, combining global reach with local understanding.

How we deliver our work matters just as much as what we deliver. Exceptional customer service is built into our operating model, with dedicated account support for every client and a Client Support Manager who proactively manages questions and issues throughout the week. This ensures businesses feel supported, informed and confident in the insights they receive.

We also take a people-first approach across our wider community. Serve Legal provides flexible and meaningful work to thousands of auditors globally, supporting those seeking additional income, practical experience or CV development. We invest in connection and community too, hosting free socials and networking events for auditors and team members because strong relationships lead to stronger outcomes.

Alongside this, our DEI commitments and supportive HR model ensure fairness, wellbeing and progression remain central to how we operate as a business.

Innovation is another key part of our journey. We continue to invest in growing data and technology teams to deliver clearer insights, stronger reporting and smarter risk management for clients. Our approach to AI is intentionally human-first. We use it to support our people to work more effectively and develop their expertise, rather than replacing them. The acquisition of Storecheckers has also been a major milestone, accelerating our international growth and strengthening our ability to support clients at scale while maintaining quality and consistency.

Looking ahead, we will be sharing new data and technology developments in 2026 that we believe will transform how organisations invest in compliance and risk management, helping them move from reactive reporting to proactive, evidence-based decision-making. These plans are ambitious, but they are backed by a highly supportive team of managers and industry experts who care deeply about delivering meaningful impact.

This past year has also brought fresh energy to our culture through the leadership of our CEO, Kate. Her approach has introduced new ideas, strengthened collaboration and encouraged innovation across the business. At the same time, we remain committed to using our work to support real social change, including our involvement with the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) scheme. Through audits, research and public insight, we help highlight risk and support safer environments where it matters most.

Alongside our overall ranking, we are also delighted to have been shortlisted for three additional EB100 awards:

  • TikTok Exceptional Performance Award 2026
  • Vistage Leadership of the Year Award 2026
  • Moneypenny Customer Service of the Year Award 2026

This recognition belongs to the entire Serve Legal community. From our internal teams and supportive managers to the thousands of auditors delivering work on the ground, often in complex and high-risk environments, this achievement reflects collective effort and dedication.

It also belongs to our clients, who trust us to deliver audits that are credible, defensible and genuinely useful, not just for reporting but for real improvement.

As we continue to grow in the UK and internationally, our focus remains clear on supporting safer customer environments, helping businesses navigate risk with confidence, and raising standards where it truly matters.

Thank you to the EB100 judges, and congratulations to all the organisations recognised in this year’s awards.
